The last driver version for Graphire3 is version 5.25. This runs with Windows8, but there is no further support for this tablet anymore in later drivers.
I have installed Drivers 5.2.5 on my brand new W8 Vivobook and when I try to configure my buttons using the 'bamboo' drivers it says, "A supported tablet cannot be found".
So this does not solve this problem. Is there another avenue to get this to work?
Unplug the tablet, uninstall the driver and restart Windows. Go to device manager and remove any remaining Wacom entries there. Also remove remaining files wintab*.* from SYSTEM32 and SYSWOW64 as well as any pen_tablet.dat files, which may still exist on the machine. Then attach the tablet to a USB port in the back of the machine (not through a hub or dockingstation), log in with an admin user account, then install the driver. If still a problem, remove the driver settings with the tablet preference utility (from Start menu -> Bamboo). What is your tablet model (product code) ?
Hello. I have the same problem described here. I walked through all the steps proposed by Wacom here. Now i Have the tablet quasi-working. But with the following defects. 1) The Bamboo preferences are set by default (double click for upper key pressure). The pen is working on the rear/eraser edge but not working on its front/writing edge. 2) I manage to make the pen writing on the right edge (the writing one) but maintaining depressed the "double click" key while I draw (really annoying) and it seem to be a Yes/No device because on the pencil tool in Sketchbook Pro the heaviness of the stroke seems to be independent from the pressure applied. Model should be a CT-430 one, Serial Number I do not have at hand (i will post it later when I will be back home) colour is blue/purple Graphire 3 Tablet. It is a pity. Under Win7-64 it worked flawlessly and upgrade program by Microsoft did not alerted me with any warning. Could you/anyone help me?
Open the tablet properties panel, Ctrl+Click on the About/Info button to see the diagnostics. Put the pentip on the tablet and check the reported 'pressure' in the right column. It should be zero/close to zero before touching the tablet and show increasing pressure when touching. If this is not the case, the pen has a defect and should be exchanged. - If the pen works ok in diagnostics, but cannot click, check the FAQ here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13003
I did what you adviced. Everything works ok (position etc.) everything...but the pressure on the writing tip. At that point i turned the pen upside-down and pressure on the erasing tip is working.....(reported number varies...) ...very strange. The pen hardware is ok I suppose, since it worked flawlessly in Windows 7, just before OS upgrade. I confirm the model is CTE-430 and S/N is 4LZ000792. Thank you for your help.
If there is no pressure reaction from the pentip, something is not ok with the pen and it should be exchanged. If it still works fine on another system, it is not clear, why it fails on the new system. I would uninstall the driver, restart Windoes and test the pen. It should then work as a mouse and click with the tip. If that is fine, but not with the driver, the problem would be in the software.
Hi everyone - I was having the same issue, but I found a solution after a few hours. If you're having trouble using your Wacom CTE-630 (Sapphire) (aka. Graphire 3) with Windows 8:
